The TV Display

Host a Quiz is designed for the big screen. The TV Display is what your audience and players see—a beautiful, animation-rich interface that stays synced with the game.

Setting Up

Connecting the display is simple and requires no login.

Open Browser: On your Smart TV, projector laptop, or secondary monitor, navigate to /tv.
Enter Code: You will see a "TV JOIN" screen. Enter the 4-6 character Game Code found on your Host Dashboard.
Go Fullscreen: Once connected, press F11 or your browser's fullscreen button for the best experience.

What's on Screen?

Lobby

Shows the Game Code and a QR code for players to join. As players enter, their names pop up on screen with assigned colors.

Game Board

The main grid of categories and values. Clues fade out as they are completed. The background pulses with the game atmosphere.

Clue View

When a clue is active, it takes over the screen. Multimedia (images/video) will play automatically here. Text scales to fit legibly.

Scoreboard

Displays at the bottom of the board and takes center stage at the end of the game (Final Leaderboard).

Audio & Visuals

The TV view handles all the "show" elements.

🎵Sound Effects: Buzz-in sounds, correct/wrong chimes, and background loops play from this device.
💡Lighting: The screen glows in the color of the active player (e.g., flashes Red when Player 1 buzzes in).
