Host a Quiz turns your computer and TV into a professional trivia studio. Here is how to run your first game in minutes.

1. Create a Game

First, you need a game to host. You have two options:

  • Create from Scratch: Go to your Dashboard and click "Create Game" to build a custom quiz with your own questions.
  • Use a Template: Browse the Curated Library and pick a professionally made game to host instantly.

2. Launch the Console

When you are ready to host, click the Launch button on your game card. This opens the Control Console. This is your command center—only you (the host) should see this screen.

3. Connect the Big Screen

The TV Display is what your players and audience will see.

  1. Open the Control Console.
  2. Click the TV Link button in the top right.
  3. Open this link on a secondary display (like a TV connected via HDMI or AirPlay).

4. Players Join

Players use their phones as buzzers. They don't need to download an app.

  • Players scan the QR code on the TV Display.
  • Or they go to hostaquiz.com/play and enter the Join Code shown on screen.
  • Once they enter their name, they will appear on your Control Console and the TV.
