The Player App
Players don't need to download anything. Their phone becomes their buzzer, answer pad, and personal scoreboard.
Joining a Game
Players can join in two ways:
Scan the code shown on the TV Display Lobby screen.
Go to hostaquiz.com/play and enter the Game Code manually.
Interface Modes
The app interface changes automatically based on the current Clue settings.
The Buzzer
A massive button. Tap it fast! If locked out, it turns Red. If you win, it turns Green and your phone vibrates (if supported).
Multiple Choice
Displays 4 large options (A, B, C, D). Players select one. The choice is locked in once tapped.
Wagering
For Wager Clues, a keypad appears. Players enter their bet (up to their current score).
Transfer Device
Did a player's phone die? Or do they want to switch to a tablet?
Use the Transfer button at the top right of the player screen.
- Tap "Transfer" on the old device (or see it on the TV ending screen).
- A unique QR code appears containing a "Magic Token".
- Scan it with the new device.
- Success! The player is instantly logged in on the new device with their score intact.
